- Assumption of Risk: Visitors assume all risks associated with accessing and exploring the trails and fossil beds. This includes, but is not limited to, risks of falls, encounters with wildlife, and exposure to natural elements.
- Trail Conditions: The trails may be uneven, steep, or slippery, especially during or after inclement weather. Visitors are advised to wear appropriate footwear and exercise caution at all times.
- Wildlife: The area is home to various wildlife species. Maintain a safe distance from all animals and do not attempt to feed or approach them. Be aware of your surroundings and follow all posted guidelines regarding wildlife encounters.
- Weather: Weather conditions can change rapidly. Visitors should be prepared for sudden changes in weather and bring appropriate clothing, water, and supplies.
- Health and Safety: Visitors should be in good health and physically capable of navigating the trails. Those with medical conditions or physical limitations should consult with a healthcare provider before visiting.
- Supervision of Children: Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. The trails and fossil beds can present hazards that require careful attention and guidance.
- No Fossil Removal: The removal or disturbance of fossils is strictly prohibited. This site is protected under provincial heritage laws, and any unauthorized removal of fossils is illegal and subject to penalties.
- Emergency Situations: In case of an emergency, contact local authorities immediately. Be aware that cell phone reception may be limited in some areas of the site.
- Liability Waiver: By entering the McAbee Fossil Beds Heritage Site, visitors agree to release and hold harmless the site management, including the Bonaparte First Nation, from any and all liability for injuries, damages, or losses that may occur during their visit.
