Group Tours

Tour Groups (10+ People)

 Our tours are designed to engage, educate, and inspire, blending science and cultural storytelling.


  • Guided walk along the Deep View Trail
  • Stories of the Eocene Epoch and geological formations
  • Insights into Secwépemc culture and stewardship of the land
  • Opportunity to observe fossils in their natural setting (no collecting)


Tour Rates

 Tour Cost: $6 per person (for groups of 10 or more)


For tour companies, there is potential for the tour lead and driver to receive complimentary admission.
 Tours may be split for safety and comfort for very large groups. 

We all felt privileged to experience this dramatic ancient and living environment firsthand, and thankful for our generous guides and hosts.

School Tours

School Visits

  School groups experience McAbee as a living classroom, combining hands-on learning with cultural and scientific interpretation.


School Rates

  • $5 per student
  • Children under 5: Free
  • 1 free chaperone per 10 students; additional chaperones: $6

Student Experience

  • 15 - 20 minute introductory talk by Site Manager
  • Guided walk along interpretive trail system
  • Observation of already-exposed fossils
  • Interactive discussion circle at main teepee
  • Stories connecting fossils, landscape, and Indigenous knowledge
     

Students are encouraged to imagine the Eocene landscape and understand both natural history and cultural stewardship.

Trails & Difficulty

  • 8 km of hiking trails, ranging from beginner (~30 min) to intermediate (~2 hours)
  • Fossils visible on Deep View Trail and Desert Grasslands Trail
  • Trail guidance ensures safe exploration while allowing observation and discovery
